Video I took at Titanic Belfast. This is the tour of Titanic from Keel to the Stars. If you ever have a chance to go to Titanic Belfast you must go because it is one of the most well done and interactive museums in the world.
Since the sinking of the Titanic a debate has raged on about the last moments of the band, led by Wallace Hartley. The known facts are that the band began playing in the First Class Lounge around 12:15. Sometime after that they moved out onto the boat deck playing upbeat contemporary music to keep up the spirits of the passengers while loading the lifeboats. Multiple survivors testified that the band continued to play until the very end.
On a personal note, I believe it doesn’t matter what they played, but the fact they continued to play is the important bit of information here.
Leaving tomorrow for Ireland and England! Can’t wait for the Titanic Adventure to begin!
My Titanic 100 trip begins in 9 days. I can’t believe its actually almost here. Follow along on my twitter @brightphoto for our adventures abroad in Ireland, England and New York City!
After reading over 20 books about Titanic, I’m moving on to ships, ship building, oceanography and deep sea exploration. My favorite so far is the exploration.
